Makkah Gov. Prince Khaled Al-Faisal recently honored NCB for sponsoring Souk Okaz cultural festival in the summer resort of Taif. Abdul Kareem Abu Al-Nasr, CEO of the bank, thanked Prince Khaled for the honor.
"Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah's patronage of Souk Okaz reflects his support for Arab and Islamic culture and heritage and its role in building human beings," Abu Al-Nasr said in a statement.
He expressed his hope that the annual festival would contribute to the overall development of Taif, one of the oldest and historic cities in the Kingdom.
He highlighted tourist potentials of the Makkah region, adding that it would contribute to the Kingdom's economic growth through various investment projects.
NCB has signed an agreement with the Makkah governorate to sponsor Souk Okaz for the next three years.
NCB's support for the festival would boost cultural, heritage and intellectual activities in the Kingdom.
Souk Okaz is supported by both the public and private sectors, including the Makkah Governorate, the Ministry of Education and Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities.
