JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

 

Experience:

  • 15 – 20 years experience in management positions, preferably in Banking & Financial services
  • Minimum 5 years experience in Senior Management / Executive positions in large retail/Islamic banking

 

Education:

  • Minimum Masters Degree in Financial Discipline or equivalent

 

Additional Qualifications

  • Association / Certification from Banking & Finance Institute or other professional bodies.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning processes
  • Knowledge of financial planning & capital management philosophy & processes
  • Knowledge of employee motivation philosophy & theory
  • Strong change management skills
  • Ability to drive organizational climate/culture
  • Ability to remain focused on long-term strategic objectives in light of immediate operational requirements
  • Fluency in spoken & written Arabic & English

 

 

JOB PURPOSE:

  • Provide strategic leadership to position the company as a leading mortgage finance provider , provide macro level direction for long term organization development by fostering a high performance, leveraging strengths to support achievement of its vision and mission objectives.
  • To build & grow Retail asset business profitably through branches and other distribution channels, by fostering a high performance, sales and service culture & ensuring highest customer satisfaction levels.

 

Key Accountabilities

Strategic & Managerial

  • Develop and communicate the company’s vision, mission statements both internally and externally; ensure compliance of business activities to the overall vision of the organization
  • Identify organization wide strategic issues and concerns and resort to appropriate actions to address such issues
  • Evolve Company’s business model in line with market opportunities to provide greater value to all stakeholders
  • Ensure that the long and short-term strategies developed are in line with the vision statement and strategic direction of the organization
  • Develop business targets for each department in consultation & in line with the Company’s overall business objective
  • Formulate annual business strategy/ plan and ensure establishment of appropriate action plans to attain the objectives and budget
  • Ensure development of a strong relationship with key developers, brokers & high net worth clients at the CEO/ Board level in order to maximise the business relationship
  • Inculcate a customer driven, service culture across all departments; strive to deliver best-in-class customer service through all delivery channels
  • Ensure development and implementation of the credit policy to maintain and control the overall portfolio risk of the organization
  • Periodically evaluate the performance of the departments
  • Motivate, develop and empower staff through effective HR policies and an open communication culture, to foster a performance driven culture
  • Track market developments, stay abreast of new delivery channels, products and services in order to provide guidance to business units
  • Represent Company & create presence through various commercial bodies & institutions

 

Retail

  • Identify & allocate initiatives to achieve Company & retail strategy & monitor the progress regularly. Drive & personally overmanage key initiatives
  • Develop channels for sales & service -branches, direct sales, call centre etc.
  • Develop annual retail product/ marketing plans with detailed budgets & targets
  • Develop robust credit policies alongside the head of credit & monitor the credit approval rate closely
  • Pro-actively encourage development of new systems & operational processes to support the growing businesses
  • Continuously benchmark competition, track market developments, stay abreast of new delivery channels in order to develop the business & provide latest facilities to customers
  • Manage the credit quality of the retail asset book within acceptable limits
  • Conduct periodic meeting with Branch head, Credit head to review performance & discuss key initiatives taken
  • Maintain statutory & business controls for all processes
